The electoral campaign for Algeria's early legislative elections ends today, Tuesday


Today, Tuesday, the electoral campaign for the early legislative elections in Algeria, scheduled for next Saturday, will conclude.


The electoral campaign, which was launched on May 20, took place within the framework of the controls set by the electoral system law, which stipulates in Article 73 that the electoral campaign is open 23 days before the date of polling, and ends 3 days before the date of polling, and by the conclusion of the electoral campaign, it begins after the middle of Tomorrow night, Tuesday, the electoral silence period that lasts until polling day, June 12.


The election campaign was conducted under the supervision of an independent committee at the Independent Electoral Authority, consisting of representatives from the State Council, the Accountability Council, and the Supreme Court, to scrutinize the entire electoral campaign financing process with the aim of keeping money in all its forms, especially the corrupt, from the electoral process in all its stages.


The electoral campaign took place within the framework of new measures stipulated by the law related to the electoral system, such as prohibiting the use of hate speech by candidates or persons participating in the campaign for hate speech and all forms of discrimination. Also, before the start of the campaign, a charter of ethics for electoral practices was signed by the heads of political parties and representatives of independent lists.


Next Saturday, Algeria will witness early legislative elections in which 1,483 lists will compete, including 646 lists representing 28 political parties and 837 independent lists to win the 407 seats in the National People's Assembly (the lower chamber of parliament).
