The President of the European Investment Bank, Werner Hoyer, stressed that the bank is a major partner for Greece, noting that the participation of the EIB group amounting to 2.8 billion euros last year contributed to supporting public and private investment and benefiting from the technical expertise and financial strength of the bank.
This came according to a statement issued by the bank, today, Saturday, during a meeting held by Werner Hoyer, with Greek Finance Minister Christos Staikouras, at the bank’s headquarters in Luxembourg; To explore new opportunities to enhance the European Investment Bank's engagement in Greece, fund the COVID-19 recovery support programs, and accelerate climate action in the coming years.
Hoyer explained that the European Investment Bank contributed to managing 5 billion euros to support the new investment of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan "Greece 2.0".
He stressed that the bank is committed to closer cooperation with partners from the public and private sectors across Greece to launch new investments with the aim of creating jobs, promoting climate action and building a better future.
