The Russian national football team has officially announced the exclusion of Yuri Gerkorff from the list to participate in the European Nations Cup "Euro 2020", due to injury.
The exclusion of Yuri Zhirkov from the list of the Russian bear participating in "Euro 2020", after a thigh injury he suffered against Belgium in the match that brought the two teams together last Saturday, and ended with the latter's victory 0-3 in the first round of the second group of the continental competition.
Belgium leads the second group of the European Nations Cup "Euro 2020", with 3 points, and a goal difference from Finland, the runner-up, while Denmark and Russia come in third and fourth, respectively.
Under UEFA regulations, teams are allowed to replace goalkeepers for medical reasons at any stage.
Gerkorff was not the first to be excluded from the Euro due to injury, as goalkeeper Dean Henderson preceded him and the Manchester United team after suffering an injury with the Three Lions in recent training, and according to an official statement issued by the England team, it was decided to include goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale from Sheffield United.
