The Arab League is following up the implementation of the Arab decision regarding the Israeli aggression on Jerusalem


An official source at the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States stated that the League’s offices and missions abroad are currently working on following up the implementation of the mandates contained in the decision issued by the Ministerial Council two days ago regarding the Israeli aggression on Jerusalem and its people.

The source added that the councils of Arab ambassadors in the main capitals are working to move with the governments of the countries accredited to them to mobilize support for the Palestinian position in support of the Arab world regarding Israel's attacks on Jerusalem and its people, including the abuses and violations committed by the occupation forces in the Holy Mosque, as well as their open practices of pressure. It should be noted that the decision issued by the emergency ministerial council that was held on the 11th of this month called for the launch of an intense Arab and Islamic diplomatic move to protect the city of Jerusalem, defend its Islamic and Christian sanctities, and support the political, social, economic and humanitarian rights of its people, holding Israel fully responsible for these crimes And demanding the intervention of the International Criminal Court to investigate these crimes.


The responsible source stated that the League’s mission in New York is closely following the ongoing moves in the Security Council with the aim of holding Israel responsible for its attacks, especially in light of the dangerous escalation in the Gaza Strip, pointing out that Tunisia - the Arab member of the Council - is ably leading these moves, while Some seek to abort it, in order to protect Israel from exposure to any accountability or criticism.


The source added that international sympathy with the suffering of Jerusalemites and the unjustified attacks and provocations they are exposed to, is evident in recent events, and that this should be built upon by mobilizing more international support to expose the horrors of the Israeli occupation, whether in Jerusalem or in the occupied territories in general.


The source quoted Aboul Gheit as stressing that the priority now is to stop the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip immediately, in order to avoid a mutual escalation, the repercussions of which may affect the entire region.
