Algeria refuses to change the government in Mali by force and calls for dialogue

Algeria expressed its strong rejection of the coup d'état that Mali witnessed yesterday, calling for a preference for dialogue in order to ensure a peaceful path for the country's transition.

 

According to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Algeria is following with great concern the recent developments in Mali and affirms its categorical rejection of any action that would perpetuate the change of government by force, in violation of the basic principle of the African Union in this regard.
