The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said on Wednesday that Iran plans to install four more sets of IR-4 centrifuges at the Natanz facility.
An agency report seen by Reuters stated that Iran has already installed more advanced IR-2M and IR-4 centrifuges at the Natanz facility.
The report indicated that there are up to 1044 IR-2M centrifuges as well as 348 IR-4 centrifuges installed in the facility, noting that "some of these centrifuges have been used."
The IAEA report issued on April 1 indicated that Iran is using 696 IR-2m centrifuges and 174 IR-4 devices.
In the same context, France, Britain and Germany announced Wednesday that "progress" has been achieved in the negotiations seeking to salvage the Iranian nuclear agreement, but stressed that there is still "a lot" to do and warned against any measure that might undermine the progress made.
Diplomats of the three European countries participating in the agreement concluded in 2015 with Russia, China and Iran, in addition to the United States, which withdrew from it in 2018, said, "We welcome the constructive discussions that took place in Vienna and the positive participation of all parties so far."
They noted that "we have made progress but a lot remains to be done," and urged "all parties to seize the diplomatic opportunity before them" so that the United States returns to the agreement and Iran renews its full respect for its obligations.
They added, "We condemn the measures that could be taken by any party that would lead to escalation or jeopardize the progress achieved."
The negotiators met in Vienna since the beginning of Brill in an attempt to save the agreement, and it is expected that they will resume their discussions at the beginning of next week after stopping it to allow delegations to discuss developments with their countries.
Representatives of the countries that are still party to the agreement (Iran, China, Russia, France, Germany and the United Kingdom) intensified their talks until they were halted on Tuesday, and the Europeans play the role of mediator between the Iranians and the Americans.
