The Libyan national parties and blocs confirmed their follow-up to the repercussions of the current scene of an abuse of Libyan sovereignty and foreign military interventions, stressing that the salvation for the Libyan crisis is to cross into the direct presidential and parliamentary elections agreed upon by all Libyan parties, and strongly supported by the international community through statements of the Security Council, stressing its rejection For any attempt to obstruct, such as putting the idea of a referendum on the controversial constitution proposal, or insisting on using it as a constitutional rule as a means to create disagreement for the purpose of postponing or canceling.
And 15 Libyan blocs and parties stressed in a joint statement that their conviction that the tasks set by the Libyan Dialogue Forum for the Presidential Council and the Government of National Unity are exclusively and mainly to do everything necessary and should be done to prepare the Libyan land to achieve this historic national benefit, by organizing elections on December 24, 2021, At the forefront of this is the achievement of one of the most important things that should be done, which is the exit of all foreign powers on Libyan soil, so that the people of Libya can express their free will to choose the institutions of government and without excluding anyone, to lead the country to the permanent stage, through the completion of the draft permanent constitution.
The statement stressed that the date set for holding these elections is a date approved by the majority of the Libyan people, who cannot allow it to be exceeded in any way, as it is approved by the international community, represented in the UN Security Council, headed by the permanent members of it, stressing Existence of the electoral base necessary for holding the elections, represented in the entire February committee proposal included in the Seventh Amendment to the Constitutional Declaration, and House of Representatives Resolution No. 5 of 2014 regarding the direct election of the head of state, and therefore only the Libyan House of Representatives is required to address the High Electoral Commission, and to refer all documents necessary, to immediately take the necessary measures to hold the elections.
The statement suggested that the African Union, represented by its countries, help monitor the Libyan elections to ensure their safe and orderly conduct and ensure that no attempts to tamper with their results occur, in the event that the deadline for holding the elections is reached, before all foreign forces are finally evacuated from Libyan soil.
In their statement, the Libyan blocs and parties appealed to Counselor Aguila Saleh, Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives, to request his contribution to implementing what we propose in it, for the benefit of the country and the future of its children.
