Euro 2020 .. Italy is looking for a ticket to qualify against Switzerland today

The Italian national team will meet Switzerland at 6:00 pm today, Wednesday, at the “Olympico” stadium, in the matches of the second round of Group A of the European Nations Cup “Euro 2020”, which is currently being held and will continue until the eleventh of next July, with the participation of 24 teams in 11 different cities.

The Italian national team enters the match and its main goal is to achieve the three points and get closer to the playoffs of the tournament after a very strong display at the opening of "Euro 2020", after winning at the expense of Turkey by three clean points.

A victory over Switzerland would make Italy the first team to qualify for the knockout stages without looking at the rest of the group's results, but the man who will try to stop it knows the Olympic Stadium, which will host Wednesday's match, well.

The first and second places from the six groups qualify for the Round of 16, in addition to the best 4 thirds from the groups.

Roberto Mancini, coach of the Italian national team, also seeks to continue the good performance and victories, especially since everyone put the team in the ranks of the strong candidates to win the title after consecutive positive results under his leadership.

Italy is at the top of Group A in the European Nations Cup "Euro 2020", where it is at the top of the group with 3 points.

"It is important to start strong in Rome and I think we have convinced everyone, the fans and all the spectators, but there are six matches and there are many good teams," Mancini said after the victory over Turkey.

On the other hand, the Swiss team enters the match in search of the first victory in the tournament, especially after falling into the trap of a draw against Wales in the last round.

The Swiss national team is in second place with one cash, after a positive 1-1 draw, in the meeting that brought them together at the "Baku Olympic Stadium", in the capital of Azerbaijan.

For his part, Switzerland midfielder Remo Froeller warned his colleagues against repeating the mistakes of the first match against Wales, if they wanted to have any chance against Italy.

"Against Wales, we seem to have forgotten the pressure, at some point in the match, and we played passively," Froeller said. "If we do that on Wednesday we will be up for grabs against Italy, but if we play the way we know it, I think we can achieve something."

He added, "It will not be a similar match. We will never have 70 percent of possession against Italy, as was the case in Baku. Perhaps we will share possession, because both teams will want to have the ball."

He continued: "We must not repeat what Turkey did, and return to the defense without justification."
