1- Regulating the relations between market participants in accordance with the provisions of laws, decisions and regulations.

 

2- Granting, amending, renewing, suspending and canceling gas market activities licenses and determining the general principles to be adhered to.

 

3- Approving the codes for using networks and facilities after consulting with their operators.

 

4- Approving the gas transportation codes in any other way and setting the mechanisms for calculating its usage tariff.

 

5- Preparing rules allowing licensees to use networks and facilities without discrimination.

 

6- Reviewing investment plans for networks and facilities.

 

7- Establishing mechanisms for calculating the tariff for the use of networks and facilities and monitoring their application, in a manner that takes into account the interests of all.

 

8- Approving the contract controls for the activities of transporting, distributing and storing gas, regasification, and gas delivery contracts to consumers.

 

9- Follow-up and monitor the licensed parties in their gas market activities to assess their performance on a regular basis.

 

10- Establishing the necessary controls for the multiplicity of activities on the part of the licensed entities that ensure legitimate competition.

 

11- Examining documents and information related to gas market activities, and developing mechanisms to ensure accuracy and health.

 

12- Preparing technical studies and proposing a price for selling gas to non-qualified consumers in a framework of justice and transparency.

 

13- Propose criteria for identifying eligible consumers.

 

14- Examine the complaints submitted to the Agency by market participants and work to resolve them in accordance with the Executive Regulations.

 

15- Making information, reports and recommendations available to gas market participants to know their rights and obligations.

 

16- Providing technical consultancy services and recommendations related to the gas market.

 

17- Ensuring that the gas market operates in a transparent and competitive manner, taking into account the interests of all participants.

 

18- Participate in preparing proposals for laws and decisions related to market activities to ensure their consistency with the objectives of the organization.

20- Develop a model indicative contract for selling gas to qualified consumers and update it whenever the need arises.
