Italian police find a huge cache of weapons in a Naples fruit shop

Italian police announced in a statement today, Friday, that they have arrested two people after finding a huge cache of weapons that includes Kalashnikov rifles and automatic weapons inside a fruit store in Naples, according to "Russia Today".

A video clip released by the police showed security forces searching a storage room inside the store, in which they found ten pistols, six Kalashnikovs, five automatic weapons, two bulletproof vests, improvised explosive devices, and ammunition safes.

A police source said that it is possible that the weapons belonged to a mafia gang operating in the area. About 13 kilograms of hashish and marijuana were found in the store in the Bagnoli suburb west of the city.

Police said that the operation began late on Thursday, adding that the arrested were the 41-year-old and his uncle, 74, who were Italians and had no criminal records.
