Juan Carlos Garrido, the former technical director of Al-Ahly club, was sacked, on Friday, from the Castellon team, which plays the second-division league in Spain, just two rounds before the end of the competition, with the team approaching relegation to the third-division league.
Castellon announced, in an official statement on Friday, that Juan Carlos Garrido is no longer coach of the first team as of Friday, and the club wants to publicly thank his dedication and participation during his time in office and wishes him all success in the next steps of his professional career.
The Spanish coach took over as coach of Castellón on January 13, and led the team in 19 games, winning 6 games, tied in 4 and lost 9 games.
Castellon is ranked 20th in the Spanish second-division league table with 41 points, which includes 22 teams, and the regulations stipulate the relegation of the last 4 clubs to the third division league.
Garrido, the 52-year-old, had coached Al-Ahly from July 2014 until May 2015, and led the red team in 40 matches in all competitions and crowned the Egyptian Super Cup and the Confederation Cup.
He also trained many other clubs in the Arab region, such as Al-Itifaq, Al-Raja and Al-Wadad in Morocco, Al-Ain Al-Emarati and Al-Najm Al-Sahel, Tunisia.
